A major thrust to sports promotion came in 2013-14 when, The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India notified the Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 along with Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013 to include the Promotion of Sports in India by way of rural sports, nationally recognized sports, Paralympic sports and Olympic sports.

SportzLive has collaborated with Pullela Gopichand Sports, a notfor-profit organization working towards providing training in the sport of Badminton. The idea is to engage children at the grassroots, help them exercise their ‘Right to Play’, create a Badminton culture and in the process give India the promising players that its team deserves.
Its objective is to scout talent and train champions for tomorrow and provide opportunities at international circuits. The shortlisted talent needs scholarship, which may be funded under CSR, so that they can be enrolled and trained at the Pullela Gopichand High Performance Centre.
India faces enormous challenges in provision of basic sports facilities & services to large parts of the population, both in rural and urban centers. The Government has, over the years, made strides in bridging gaps in supply of these facilities & services through large interventions and programmes with a national footprint. Most of these programmes have received strong budgetary support to expand their reach. However, a lot of ground is to be covered in improving the quality of these services, albeit at a reasonable cost.
Driven by our passion for sports and an urgent need for corporate support to the sport of badminton, we have envisioned a way for Corporates and Athletes to come together; for the former, to render the muchneeded support via Sports Scholarships. These Sports Scholarships shall be awarded to truly deserving candidates of PGBA-GN. We have designed strict processes to ensure that the truly deserving candidates are awarded the scholarship in a truly transparent manner. Our processes also ensure that the performance is recorded and tracked and made available for the Corporates to review.
